About Aliza

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an unwavering passion for working with couples, families and individuals to improve and better their relationships.

My clinical practice is both emotionally focused and relationship centered.  I work to meet my clients where they are, foster a safe therapeutic environment and assist them in achieving the goals they set for themselves. I am dedicated to helping my clients make lasting change and learn how to live the lives they envision for their present and future.

I have completed Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) training and use this approach when working with my clients to support them in rebuilding their emotional connection and have open and honest communication with their partners and others. Through the use of this model, I specialize in working with couples around concerns including, but not limited to, communication, trust, emotional intimacy, sexual intimacy and infidelity.  I also work specifically with premarital couples as a PREPARE-ENRICH Facilitator. I have found that working this model from an EFT approach supports couples in developing both a strong foundation for intimacy and sustainable tools to last them a lifetime.

I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.   Through this technique, I support my clients in working through their trauma and pain so they can once again be present in their own lives and the lives of the people they love.

Born and raised in Arizona, I lived in Chicago for 6 years where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University and my Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from The Graduate School at Northwestern University.  It was also at Northwestern University’s Family Institute, where I completed my clinical training working with individuals, couples and families.
