About Alethia

We each have a unique story but truly there are very few unique problems. The lie that we so often tell ourselves is that we are alone. This isolation and shame often keep us from living wholeheartedly and finding the connection with others we deeply desire. We have parts waiting to be seen, heard, and healed. In exploring those parts and seeing ourselves, we find the power to validate, challenge, and grow. My commitment in my practice is to create a safe space for you to explore your story without judgment. To walk alongside you as you create and empower the change you want to see in yourself and your relationships. My hope is in this process that you find healing and that you are not alone.

A little about my experience, I have about a decade of experience in the mental health field. Some of that work is clinical while some is as a psychology adjunct professor teaching lifespan development, abnormal psychology and more. I have completed Gottman training and am currently working on my certification to become a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). At this time I am in my final year as a student at Liberty University in their CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

I am married to my extraordinary jack-of-all-trades husband and together we are on the exhilarating ride of our lives raising our five inspiring and energetic children. We have embraced therapy as an important part of our journey as a family as we have encountered addiction, anxiety, depression, ADHD, perfectionism, autism, eating disorders and blending a family together. When I am not in session, I enjoy cooking, listening to music, learning new things, traveling with family, and being outside in nature especially when the ocean or a lake are involved. I am very passionate about my work as an adjunct professor and therefore categorize it as a hobby as well.

Working with me, you can expect me to challenge and push you while also offering empathy, encouragement, and humor wherever appropriate.
