“We achieve happiness by doing the work of our souls.” ― Bill Plotkin
A counseling approach aligning mind, body, and spirit has been helpful in my own journey of recovery and healing. It is with a similar approach that I endeavor to help my clients. We each embody our own life experiences, biology, culture, and social environment in unique ways. Most of us want to be happy, fulfilled, and purposeful in our lives. I am passionate in helping people to become heart-centered on this journey.
Using approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, I combine traditional insight-oriented talk therapy with somatic and experiential therapies. I collaborate with individuals, couples, and families facing issues such as trauma, PTSD, medical trauma, self-defeating behaviors, addiction, anxiety, stress, depression, loss and grief, relationship and communication issues, creative blocks, and challenging life transitions.
In our work together, we will work to increase mindfulness and explore beliefs, emotions, and unconscious/habitual behaviors that emerge from your family of origin relationships. We explore the positive and negative ways in which these experiences impact your interpersonal relationships. It is through this exploration in mindful awareness that you may understand yourself from a new perspective. It is out of this understanding that healing can take place.
My vision is for people to develop self-love and solid sense of self so they can have more fulfilling, enriched relationships and lives. My goal in therapy is to guide people through a process of meaningful, lasting change that brings them to feel more capable, flexible, and alive. I am committed to lifelong learning to cultivate skills in mind-body counseling approaches.
