I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Capella University. Before my PsyD degree, I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Arts in Curriculum Instruction. As a former middle and high school teacher, I found the desire to help adolescents and children with behavioral needs. My desire to help children expanded to more than just direct classroom instruction. As a result, my research focused on mood disorders in the adolescent population. I have training in trauma, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Rational Behavior Therapy.
Over the past 15 years, I have worked with families, adolescents, and adults with behavioral and substance abuse issues. Furthermore, I have expertise in clinical and psychosexual assessment.
During my free time, I spend time with my husband of 33 years, three dogs, and older horses. As often as possible, my husband and I visit our four adult children and three grandchildren. My other hobbies include reading, sewing, quilting, gardening, and continued learning.
